Motionext is the product of a dynamic partnership between two passionate individuals, each bringing unique skills and expertise to the table. Below is a closer look at the people behind the app and the paths that led us here.
Position: Founder, Lead Full Stack Developer and Administrative
Experience: I first discovered my passion for programming in August 2018, at the age of 12. It started with creating Discord bots—simple automation tools that made chatrooms more interactive and engaging. Over time, I began to explore more complex projects, taking on freelance work for individuals and small businesses. This freelance experience exposed me to a wide variety of programming challenges, from backend development to API integrations, and helped me build a solid foundation as a developer.
My journey as a software developer took a significant leap forward when I started working for a renowned wine company in Porto. For over a year now, I have been a part of their IT department, where I manage various software projects, focusing on backend systems. This professional experience has sharpened my problem-solving skills and taught me the importance of developing scalable, secure, and user-friendly systems.
Now, as the founder of Motionext, I’m excited to channel everything I’ve learned into a project that I’m deeply passionate about. My role primarily involves managing all the backend processes of the app—ensuring that our systems are efficient, secure, and ready to scale as our user base grows.
Education: I’m currently in my first year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, where I’m expanding my technical knowledge and honing the skills necessary to continue leading Motionext toward success.
Position: Co-founder, Co-Lead Developer and UI/UX
Experience: I began my programming journey in 2020, inspired and encouraged by Rafael, who had been my friend since high school. Seeing his passion for coding sparked my own interest, so I began experimenting with front-end development. Initially, it was small projects—simple websites and interfaces—but as I delved deeper, I found myself increasingly drawn to the creative side of programming.
I enjoy the challenge of creating user interfaces that are not only visually appealing but also intuitive and functional. My focus is on providing the best possible user experience by ensuring that every interaction within the app feels smooth and natural. Whether it’s designing a button, a layout, or the overall flow of a page, I take great pride in making sure our users will find the app easy to use and enjoyable.
Currently, I’m working on the Figma designs for Motionext, crafting a modern and engaging layout that reflects our brand's values of health, wellness, and progress.
Education: With Rafael, I’m in my first year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I’m focused on advancing my skills in front-end development, with the goal of bringing fresh ideas and innovation to our project as we continue to grow.
